Having been discovered yoga more than a year now has changed my life for the better.
I’ve become more flexible, toned, better posture & energized.
Many of us tend to have a demanding & hectic lifestyle and as we know stress is inevitable hence, taking time out from our busy schedule for an hour for yoga is something I would recommend everyone to do. Yoga is a good way of balancing stress and for those who have hormonal imbalance to a certain extent. I feel energized as well as restored at the end of the class.
As a medical practitioner I highly recommend my patients to embrace yoga for their betterment physically & mentally and I personally have to thank my excellent yoga guru Ms Monica for all that she has taught me

I am a regular yoga practitioner with different studio for past 5 years. I came to Monika class by chance when I was seeking out for different teacher guidance to improvise my yoga inversion skills.
However, I was caught by surprised she pointed out the small mistakes I made on my regular poses like standing position, downward dog, back bend and etc. Through her guidance, I realised my back bend can be improved further after correcting with her methodology. I can sense my back stretches more deeply and it was such a relief to know there are ways to get better. My other poses including inversion poses are improved after her guidance. I truly believe she is a great asset to any new or existing yoga practitioner.

I have been a student of Monika Ramasamy for a few years now, and have always enjoyed her classes as she is a very effective teacher. I appreciate that Monika is equally focused on the techniques of Yoga as she is in sharing the philosophy of Yoga. She also shows by example of how she embraces what she teaches in her own life. Classes in the studio are also enjoyable as the environment exudes peace, calm and a positive energy. The studio is also spacious and well kept.

I have been attending Monika’s yoga class for about 9 months now and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have benefited in 2 ways from consistently attending the class.
Firstly, I feel physically stronger and more flexible, especially around my core. I am now able to perform yoga poses which I thought would not be possible when I first joined. I have also found myself to maintain a much better posture in my daily life, and do practice breathing exercises regularly.
Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, her class has become the time of the week that allows me to unwind and release stress and tension that has accumulated throughout the week- through work and a hectic lifestyle. Her class gives me the opportunity to reconnect to peace; a mental escape away from the rest of the busy world. I end her class feeling calm and refreshed.

I’ve had the great fortune to have Monika as my Yoga teacher for the last 3,5 years. As I am stepping into her class her energy lifts me/us up – even after a tiring school day and struggling through the KL evening traffic. Every movement she does/shows is slow, methodical and precise – the result of an intentional thought, knowing exactly where every body part is supposed to be. Simple and subtle adjustments are given here and there, making the yoga practice an enjoyable and comfortable one. No matter how inflexible or flexible one is, she tunes into each of our/my needs and the tone and tempo of her voice inspires me/us to dive further into a pose and releasing tension where appropriate.
Going to Monikas’ class is the highlight of my week – and the energized and serene expressions on the faces at the end of each class are testimony of her experience and passion. And as a result of my regular Yoga practice I feel more healthy and energetic.

My mother has been going to Monika’s classes for four years. This year, when I came home for two months I followed her to Monika’s classes and enjoyed it so much – I really looked forward to it during the week and went twice a week.
It’s so impressing to see how Monika could immediately detect my weaknesses and helped me to work on them. I feel much safer doing acrobatics and better aligned ever since. She found the exact right pace for me, encouraging but not over demanding. I have been a student of Monika’s off and on over the past five years. I rejoined Monika’s class this January 2011 after a bout of illness and was really amazed at how transformed Monika’s style of teaching was. Monika had always been an excellent teacher, but since January I’ve noticed a remarkable shift in her teaching style and overall demeanor, and I can only describe it as an inner flourishing of Grace.
Monika’s classes are now like an oasis in my days, each time I go, I expect – and have never been disappointed – to leave with a greater sense of stability, calmness and peace. She embodies the values that she brings into her class through the little lessons she brings into our practice. We all are taught to accept our bodies (and ourselves) where they are, and work from our own core towards realizing our own best potential.
She teaches us how to show respect and appreciation for everyone in the class, and we always leave with a lovely insight that has been encouraged through our practice. Thank you Monika for every little bit of advice and encouragement you’ve given me in the past months – it has been an important nudge for me towards healing and wholeness.

Monika has been an amazing yoga teacher from start to finish; I have been attending her classes for 4 years and have developed so much during that time, not only physically but mentally aswell. Her class is physically demanding and challenging but she is always ensures that positions are achieved to best of the ability of each individual student even in a very mixed ability class. Within the class we also cover breathing techniques and relaxation methods, which I find very useful. As a person I find her very positive and have emotionally benefited from her classes. I really enjoy the yoga sessions that I now attend twice a week and have seen a vast improvement not only in my strength and stamina but my general well-being and health. Monika is always keen to help and give advice and encouragement about “healthy living” when students want to know more. I would definitely recommend her class to anyone considering taking up yoga or wanting to develop their practice further.

I’ve been practicing Yoga under Monika’s teaching for about 4 months now. Having been more of a gym enthusiast before, I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy the pace of Yoga, but haven’t looked back since. My mindset about how to improve my body has also been altered – I now don’t see Yoga as an exercise but more of an experience. Monika has inspired me to experience Yoga as it intends for us to – physically, mentally and spiritually.
Monika is an effective teacher as her instructions are clear and concise. One would never be allowed to be stagnant as she is constantly checking on our poses. She is also in tune with our individual progress so she knows when its time for you to turn up a notch and push yourself a little more. At the same time, she practices what she preaches – which is that we should “accept and surrender” if we’re only able to go thus far on any particular day. I respect Monika for her knowledge and experience but more so, I see the spirit of Yoga in her, and I would like to experience that for myself.
I especially enjoy Monika’s eloquence in her teaching and explanation, which to me is almost poetic. At the end of each class, I feel like I’ve had a good workout physically and yet mentally I’m relaxed and uplifted.

Yoga under Monika is both challenging and interesting. Poses that seemed impossible in the beginning, gradually and surely could be attained. All this is due to her vast experience in Yoga. My chronic ailments of headache and dizziness etc. were reduced.
