I believe that Hatha-Yoga is a comprehensive system of holistic health care that helps to create a strong, more flexible and healthy body and mind. You will be looking in vain for me to demonstrate the most extreme pretzel-position one finds in “Light of Yoga” by B.K.S. Iyengar , as the focus of my teaching is on alignment, health and finding inner and outer balance.
I also believe that Hatha-Yoga must be taught with a sound knowledge of how the body works. My training with IYTA, IYAA and hundreds of hours of teacher training with Desiree Rumbaugh, Amy Ippolity and other former Anusara teachers have given me the knowledge to guide my students appropriately and wisely. Since there is always more to learn in teaching I am pursuing a degree in complementary medicine with HSA and continue attending seminars and classes myself. I believe every single yoga student is different and can be best guided in a small class of not more than 10 people.
Whether it is the super flexi-bendy type, the tensed-up mid-lifer or the seasoned practitioner, Yoga can be for everyone. Life might take a turn and things aren’t the way they were; Yoga slows us down and creates time to give us answers to questions we usually avoid to ask.
The essence of my teaching is: be who you are, explore your boundaries, accept your differences, stay curious, pursue health and balance and find what’s important to you and go practice it.

I’ve had the great fortune to have Monika as my Yoga teacher for the last 3,5 years.
